As a developing nation, Sri Lanka still relies a lot on agriculture and cultivation. It is one of the main livelihoods of those living in the villages and the 2nd largest contributor to the GDP of the country. Being an island located close to the equator, Sri Lanka also has the most fertile land in the world for cultivation. Because of this, there is a high demand for small farms available for sale across the country. The nation also has its own dedicated farm lands for agriculture, depending on the cultivated plants. For example, tea is usually grown in the central province while coconut cultivation takes place in the coastal areas and paddy grows best in the dry zone areas like Anuradhapura. For farmers, this is great, especially because they can easily locate lands in the ideal areas depending on their crop. 

Cultivation also depends on external factors like rainfall and temperature. Agricultural areas with cold climates are the best for crops like tea and vegetables like carrots and cabbages. While the mid-dry zone areas are ideal for self cultivation of onions, yams, and pumpkin. So as a farmer it is necessary that you study the climate conditions as well, in a particular area before selecting agricultural lands for sale in it. Tending to plants until the harvest season is a hard task that becomes tougher as time goes by. Not only do you have to monitor the water and soil conditions, but you also need to make sure that it does not become infested with bugs and weeds. Cultivation is a long and hard process of nurturing a crop to see it produce harvest after months. And it starts from selecting the right agriculture land, to matching it with external conditions and those that the crop would require.
