For those who are living in Colombo, some of the famous places for a weekend getaway are Avissawella, Kandy, Kalutara and down South areas such as Galle and Matara. An average investment of LKR 35Mn and above will offer you villas with 3 bedrooms, swimming pool, gardening space and other amenities such hot water, air conditioning, etc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beachfront property<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A beachfront property that is not too far away from the shore but still just enough to enjoy waking up to spectacular views of the Indian Ocean can be found for an average investment of LKR 40Mn and above. A property of this type would generally include 3 bedrooms, attached bathrooms, swimming pool and sometimes 2 stories as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The deeds<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Deeds prove your ownership of a property. For an already built property, the final transfer of ownership and title takes place through the Deed of Transfer (DOT). When the property is brand new, the seller\u2019s lawyer will prepare this document and offer it free of charge to you. The seller will also include an updated version of the survey plan with the DOT that will be needed when registering the property\u2019s title under your name. You will also need this deed when applying for a mortgage loan to buy a second home. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
